Blood Frequency

My novel is (at the moment) 50,043 words long. The word "blood" is used 105 times.
This means that blood is used, approximately on average, once every 500 hundred words (approximately 2 pages). This also means that the next word you read has a 0.05% chance of being "blood." This is quite possibly indicative of something.

When the frequency of usage for the word "blood" (105 in 52,043) is compared to the frequency of usage for the word "smile" (20 in 52,043) a clear picture emerges. "Smile" is used only 1/5 as many times as "blood," and therefore is only 1/5 as likely to be the next word you read. It's used once every 2,500 words; once per 10 pages. This is enough to establish a conclusion through conjecture.

I'm in the process of writing a book where characters are five times more likely to bleed than they are to smile.
