That Elastic Feeling...

...When you slump down on the table after a long time writing with mussy hair and an empty stomach, and the screen of your computer is no longer blank; it's covered in actual words now, words that you wrote, good words hopefully, and mediocre ones at least; your characters have moved on with their lives, and your antagonist is making ready to launch a bitter assault that will leave your protagonist apoplectic with grief.

Apoplectic is an excellent way to make people do a conversational double-take.
